Publisher´s Note:

"Our" Aramaic is the dialect of the Tur-Abdin, originally spoken in the south east of Turkey, but since most speakers from that area now live in the West, it is mainly spoken in the diaspora in Germany, Sweden, France, the US.

Syriac-Aramaic is the old Aramaic variety, the "Church language" of the Syriac orthodox church, and still in liturgical use. Otherwise it is not spoken. Linguistically it is also called "Middle Syriac".
